China town.
The Mandarin classes from MYP2 to MYP5 went on a trip to China town as part of the New Year celebration. The students had the opportunity to explore the town and engage with people of there culture and ethnicity, this which helped students make new relationships with people of the outside world and practice more their Mandarin. Whilst on the trip the students had lunch at a nicely decorated Chinese restaurant where they dished on variation of Chinese food until they were pleased and then to have a wonderful walk on the town, seeing different stalls, buying gifts, souvenirs and meeting new people. All Mandarin students can agree that it was a trip to remember.
BBC Studios.
Miss Alexandra took her Phase 3 and 4 Spanish Spanish class for a treat to the BBC studios as they had been learning about the influence of media on society in Spanish. The trip consisted of a private tour guide whom would give the students a tour around the studio to areas of very significant and high importance, they explored different areas and learn fascinating stories based on the history of the studio when it was first established in the UK. The Spanish class then went to a neighbouring Mexican restaurant where they had a variation of burritos and lots to drink after a long tour, to come back to school and share their experience with their family and friends.
